An additional two individuals are now in custody related to a robbery at London's Heathrow Airport in which 21 people sustained injuries by what is thought to be pepper spray, according to law enforcement.

A 24-year-old man, was taken into custody in Lambeth on suspicion of theft and assault and a 23-year-old woman was detained for suspected conspiring to commit a robbery. Both individuals are still being held, authorities confirmed.

These detentions follow an investigation into an assault at the multi-storey car park at Heathrow's Terminal 3 on Sunday. Before the attack, a pair of female travelers had stolen from them their luggage after getting out of a parking garage elevator.

A three-year-old girl was one of the injured in the event. Five people went to hospital for medical care and were later released.

Police detained a 31-year-old man for suspected theft and assault close to the scene. He was subsequently released pending further inquiries while inquiries continue.

Authorities were alerted at approximately 8:10 in the morning GMT after reports came in regarding several individuals hurt by a noxious substance thought to be an irritant spray.

The assault - which police said was a standalone incident and not considered terrorism - caused delays to rail services and the partial closure of the main airport tunnel and the Terminal 3 car park for a short time.
